Southease was the end of my two day walk, which takes me over 80 miles walked. The village has a pretty church and thatched cottages around the village green.
Sea and Chalk Cliffs near Mill Hill
Even in the drizzle the spectacular views of white cliffs and blue sea were stunning on the descent from Swanborough to Mill Hill and down towards Southease.
View towards Kingston near Lewes
From the top of the ridge I sat eating lunch with a view over the Ouse valley to Kingston near Lewes. #mindful-lunch!
Brown fields climbing Swanborough Hill
It’s a real privilege to be able to walk through farm fields and rolling downs. An amazing autumnal day on my South Downs Way walk.
Housedean Farm sunset
Housedean Farm campsite was the perfect overnight stop for my walk as it’s right on the South Downs Way. I stayed in a pod to give my hips a good rest!
A windmill called Jill (and Jack).
Back on the SDW from Pyecombe to Ditchling Beacon, @WalkingJill passes the Jill and Jack Windmills!
A tea shop! Rooibos at Saddlescombe Farm
A very welcome tea shop at NT Saddlescombe Farm! How lovely to have a cuppa about 6 miles in – made be bounce up the last hill on this 8 mile walk!
Views across Devils Dyke
Passing the top of Devils Dyke, through lots of thorn trees. A perfect spot for some malt loaf! Jill Pringle walking the SDW with DDH.
Fulking Village from the SDW
Amazing lunch spot – overlooking Fulking village, on the way to the Devils Dyke pub. Simply heaven 🙂
Edburton Hill and Fulking Escarpment
Walking down from Truleigh Hill, a marvellous view of the South Downs Way path ahead of me and Edburton Hill down to Fulking Escarpment.
